Under the direct supervision of the registered nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) provides quality patient care. Performs supportive nursing care appropriate to the age of patients served; i.e. physical hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, socialization, observation, safety, and emotional and physical comfort needs. Answers call lights, telephones, and relays messages to appropriate personnel. The C.N.A. maintains a safe and clean working environment. The Certified Nursing Assistant must be able to work any shift, Monday through Friday, weekends and holidays. The C.N.A. coordinates patient-centered care meeting both the psychological and physical needs of the patients and ensures optimal care and service in accordance with physician orders, The Joint Commission, nursing and departmental guidelines. The Cer! tified Nursing Assistant fulfills these duties to ensure conti! nuity and quality of care which fosters the best interest and well being of all patients and their families
