Gymnastics Private Instructor I - II Part-Time

$16.00 - $27.82 per hour

The Gymnastics Instructor position is responsible for providing private gymnastic lessons to individuals and small groups. In addition to scheduled shifts, this position is also responsible for assisting with two events per calendar year such as: Parents Night Out, Maintenance Week, Home Meets, or other special events.

  • Will be competent in a variety of gymnastics skill progressions and spotting techniques at all levels of gymnastics including competitive, as well as competent in the use of a variety of gymnastics equipment.
  • Will remain current on CARA Gymnastics league rules and judging guidelines.
  • Will establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public.
  • Has the ability to communicate verbally with both children and adults.
  • Must be highly motivated and take direction well with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Gymnastics Private Instructor I - $16.00 - $20.74 per hour

  • Must be at least fifteen (15) years of age.
  • Current certifications in AED/CPR/First Aid or the ability to obtain such certifications within sixty (60) days of employment.
  • Concussion recognition training is required and must be renewed annually.

Gymnastics Private Instructor II - $19.85 - $27.82 per hour

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years prior experience teaching and/or coaching Compulsory and Optional levels of Gymnastics is required.
  • Must have experience coaching recreational gymnastics to those ages 5-18yrs.
  • Current certifications in AED/CPR/First Aid or the ability to obtain such certifications within sixty (60) days of employment.
  • Concussion recognition training is required and must be renewed annually.

Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:

  • USAF or CARA certified preferred.
    • Current certifications in AED/CPR/First Aid or the ability to obtain such certifications within sixty (60) days of employment.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Competent in a variety of gymnastics skills progressions and spotting techniques at all levels of gymnastics including competitive, as well as competent in the use of a variety of gymnastics equipment.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally; establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public.

Material and Equipment Used:

Demonstrate proper safety knowledge and use of all gymnastics equipment. Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and general office equipment (computer, copier, fax, phone, etc.).

Working Environment:

Work is performed indoors, working in a gym environment with frequent interruptions and distractions. Working in rooms of various temperatures, indoor noisy environment with music and background noise. Will be exposed to moving parts and dust.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to push, pull or balance. Requires spotting and assisting patrons during the performance of gymnastic moves. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted, and lift/move a maximum of 100 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include: near acuity, far acuity, depth perception and color vision. Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, exhibit manual dexterity and the ability to handle objects. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone, e-mail, and through face-to-face communication is needed.
