The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited toPatient Care1. Administers and supervises the administration of prescribed anesthetics, medications and oxygen.2. Monitors patients continuously during MAC procedures for EKG, pulse rate, blood pressures, pulse oximetry and respirations.3. Observes patient reactions and consults with physicians o! n patient's condition pre-procedure, during procedure and post! procedure.4. Identifies and manages emergency situations, including initiating or participating in CPR. 5. Assists with patient selection appropriate to GI Associates' practice setting according to anesthesia Standards of Care and GI Associates Policies and Procedures.6. Accepts additional responsibilities appropriate to the practice setting which are within the expertise of the individual nurse anesthetist. Recordkeeping and Documentation1. Reviews charts associated with each patient in order to determine if other pertinent information is needed.2. Records data associated with patients' procedures into EMR.Professional Development and Credentials1. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional licensure and affiliations.2. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
