LPN Intake Nurse

To provide ancillary assistance to the registered nurse, utilizing practical nursing knowledge gained through both education and/or experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Communica! te lab results, changes in patient condition, requests for prescription refill for patient, etc., to physician
- Receive verbal orders from physician including recertification orders; inform appropriate personnel as dictated by procedure or accepted office practice
- Communicate to patient/caregiver changes in physician's orders, specific lab values and other pertinent information
- Receive calls from patient, caretaker, HHA re patient's condition and relay pertinent information as dictated by procedure or accepted office practice
- Follow through with instructions/requests received from nursing staff or designate others
- Review patient chart to verify pertinent information as requested by professional staff
Graduate of Licensed Practical Nursing School.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years LPN experience
Certificates & Licenses
Current LPN licensure by the appropriate state licensing board, dri! ver's license, and automobile liability insurance.
Ot! her Requirements
Must possess excellent telephone and interaction skills. Must be highly organized and efficient. Must be able to receive, process, translate and/or relay information with extreme accuracy. Must have proficient key-board skills, including use of a computer. Prefer knowledge in ICD-9 coding.
